Terry Godwin has left the team, plans to transfer

--ATHENS, GA-- Georgia sophomore wide receiver Terry Godwin has reportedly left the team according to sources close to UGA Athletics. Godwin finished the season second on the team in receptions, second only to Isaiah McKenzie, however amassed no receiving touchdowns over the course of the season. His only TD of the season came in an October 9 matchup against South Carolina, where Godwin stepped in front of the Gamecock's front-line, fielded an onside kick, and took it all the way to the end-zone to seal the game. Kirby Smart criticized the play in a postgame interview, perhaps early signs of bad blood between the two. Godwin himself was unavailable for comment, but it's been noted that he plans to finish out the academic semester, however will not make the bowl game trip. Godwin leaves UGA having accumulated 72 receptions, 773 yards, and two reception TDs in two years as a Bulldog. Georgia's bowl game will be announced on ESPN's Bowl Selection Show this coming Sunday.

NCAA to change final score, statistics of Georgia Tech-Georgia game

--ATHENS, GA-- After reviewing a very controversial play in the rivalry known as Clean Old-Fashioned hate, the NCAA has decided to change the final score of the game. A score of 30-24 will be changed to 30-17. Georgia Tech went into Athens and through a miraculous finish, won in overtime, off a DJ White interception. Despite the W and great finish for the Yellow Jackets, Tech coach Paul Johnson expressed his anger for a third quarter call. That was Justin Thomas' QB sneak with 8:42 left, which turned into a Damian Swann TD one hundred yards the other way. Thomas took the snap and appeared to have pushed his way into the east end zone, however no ref blew his whistle when the ball crossed the plane. Instead, refs let play continue for a near 4 seconds while Georgia players tugged viciously at the ball. Out of the scrum came Georgia DB Damian Swann, who ran the entire distance for a UGA touchdown. After multiple reviews by the NCAA, ACC, and the College Football Officials Association (CFOA), the score will be reversed and will give Thomas the touchdown and take it out of all Damian Swann's stats/accolades. This decision was made due to the fact that it was a blatantly wrong call, and that at this point has no affect on the outcome of the game, since Georgia Tech won anyways. Also, the NCAA explains that had the Justin Thomas touchdown been correctly rewarded, the score would've been 13-7 in Georgia Tech's favor (no xp) at that point, as opposed to 14-7 in Georgia's favor. Due to the fact that Georgia Tech punted on their next possession and UGA came up empty on points on their ensuing possession (due to an Adam Gotsis' blocked field goal of Marshall Morgan), those two possessions are basically voided, and in no way is the decision to change the final score take away from other parts in the game. The final score that will now be recorded is Georgia Tech: 30, Georgia: 17. Georgia Tech's score of 30 is given, as opposed to 31, because the NCAA cannot reward an extra point that was not made/attempted, so for the revised TD, there will be no extra point conversion associated. Stats from overtime have been voided, and the game will go down as having not had an overtime period. Just to be clear, this is only happening because Tech won the game. In no way would the NCAA make a decision after a game that would affect the outcome (winner/loser) of that game. This is not the first time in NCAA football history that this has been done. In 2011, the Pac 12 changed the USC-Utah final score from 17-14 to 23-17, after a blocked FG/touchdown, originally ruled a dead play, was counted as a score after the game had ended.

Brendan Douglas to join JJ Green, Transfer to Ga Tech.

--ATHENS--Georgia's running back Brendan Douglas has decided to join former teammate JJ Green in transferring to in-state rival school, Georgia Tech. Douglas was a featured back in UGA's offense in the middle of the 2013 season, due to injuries of Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall. However due to depth and talent, his playing time has reduced exponentially. With the names of Chubb, Marshall, and Michel, it doesn't appear that Douglas would get a great deal of carries in the seasons to come. Tech fans remember Douglas for when he committed to the Yellow Jackets in January of 2013, only to de-commit and go sign with Georgia. With Georgia Tech's entire B-back core graduating this year (Synjyn Days, Zach Laskey, and Matt Connors), Douglas sees this as an opportunity to share playing time with Tech redshirt freshman CJ Leggett. Douglas rushed for 570 yards and 5 TD's in his time at UGA. Due to transfer rules, Douglas and Green must sit out the 2015 season (a season in which they
will both redshirt) and will most-likely fit right into the lineup for the 2016 year.

GASO's Matt Breida to transfer to Georgia Tech

Georgia Southern's now-junior RB Matt Breida has decided he will transfer to in-state school, Georgia Tech. Tech, under coach Paul Johnson, runs a very similar style of triple option offense that GSU does, which will bode well for Breida and his running style.
